Bio

Talayeh Atlasi  is an Iranian multidisciplinary artist, born in Tehran, Iran in 1982.

​

She is a member of Iranian Youth Cinema Society since 2001. She had made her first short film of the first Conceptual Art Exhibition of Iran in Tehran Museum of Contemporary Art (TMoCA) in 2002 and the short film  has   been  screened  in    Cinematheque of (TMoCA)        in    2003, 

Centre de Cultura Contemporània de Barcelona (CCCB)  in 2004,  also in the   New  Art  Exhibition  organized  by   TMoCA   in  Tehran in  2004.

She graduated   from   Roberto Rossellini Film Institute in Rome, Italy in 2014 , also from filmmaking course  of   London  Film Academy in 2016 and held her second master in cinema and Multimedia from Rome University in 2016   while  continues  working  in  a   variety   of   media.  

In  2011, by her short film ''Yellow Light'', she won the Special Mention of Jury for national competition of Italy ''Cine-Disu'' and she had been invited to the program of ''Nel cuore dei giorni'' on Italian channel   TV 2000   to present  the   short  film.

 Apart    from     her    short   films   in    2012  she   has    won      the   special   mention  of  Jury  for   the  national    competition  of    Arte-Disu  for   her     photography     ‘’Behind the Cross’’.

​

She collaborated with professional artists and cinematographers from different countries and has made her short films and documentaries in Iran,  Italy  and UK mostly focused on social issues.

 

Her short films, documentaries and photographies, have boon selected for numerous group Exhibitions, showcases specially Film Festivals and visual art events. 

​

Beside making social documentaries such as ''Boutique 14'' for Documentary and Experimental Film Center of Iran  she also writes and makes social drama films.
